With the number of Christian minority girls being falling prey for Love Jihad, National Commission for Minorities vice-chairman George Kurian expressed his concern to the Home Minister seeking his immediate intervention in the matter.
In his letter to the home minister, George Kurian points out that it is not only Hindu girls being targeted for forcible conversion through Love Jihad, but also Christian girls. He wrote the letter in the context of the recent incident where a girl from the Christian community was drugged, raped and blackmailed by showing her nude pictures.
In his letter, George Kurian also pointed out that the Commission has received complaints from a few other families too that indicate Love Jihad which is a weapon for the conversion of radical Muslims in Kerala. George Kurian added that out of the 21 people who had joined IS from Kerala, five were converted from Christianity.
Earlier a number of incidents were reported from Hindu families which were often brought into the notice of the media. However, the Christian community is yet to gather their voices against this issue.
