Centre scraps Rs 2900 crore bridge project in Bihar over involvement of two Chinese companies

Centre has cancelled the tender of bridge project over Ganga river in Bihar over the involvement of two Chinese companies in the mega project. The decision comes amid the rising tensions between India and China at the Line of Actual Control.

Of the four contractors, two of them were Chinese, said a senior official of Bihar government.

The entire cost of the project was estimated to Rs 2,900 crore. The project included the construction of a 5.6-km-long bridge, other minor bridges, underpasses and a rail overbridge.
