The Centre has granted permission to conduct SSLC, plus two board examinations and the states can decide upon the dates, said the Centre. The permission was given at the request of state governments and CBSE.
The exemptions to conduct Board Examinations will be subject to certain conditions, said Home Ministry Secretary Ajay Bhalla in his letter to Chief Secretaries of all States.
No examination centre will be permitted in the Containment Zones, wearing of face masks by teachers, staff and students will be mandatory, provision of thermal screening and sanitizer at the centres and social distancing in all the exam centres to be made.
In view of the examination to be conducted by different Boards, their examination schedules should be staggered. Special buses may be arranged by the States and UTs for transportation of the students to the examination centres, directs the letter.
Meanwhile, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan told media today that there was some misunderstanding regarding the exams and hence it was decided to postpone the exam in the morning and later decided to conduct the exam in the same date decided earlier.
“The state government do not intend to enter into a dispute with the central government on such matters at this stage.” CM said adding that there would be some dispute related to other issues.
