West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh was allegedly attacked by Trinamool Congress goons at Rajarhat-New Town near Kolkata.
According to Ghosh, he went there along with a few activists to meet party supporters in the locality. “I went there with some of my party workers to talk to people and had tea at Rajarhat market area. But Trinamool goons with arms stopped us on the way. When my security personnel tried to stop them, the miscreants also heckled them. I have shifted to a new house in the area. Local Trinamool supporters must be having some serious problems with that. I don’t understand why.”
The Trinamool goons assaulted BJP members and damaged vehicles. “You can imagine the law and order situation in Bengal. I don’t know why Trinamool Congress is scared of me…,” Ghosh said. Ghosh alleged the attack was carried out by local TMC leader Tapas Mukherjee. However, Mukherjee refuted these allegations. Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “Many don’t agree with BJP’s ideology. Just like all people of West Bengal do not support the TMC’s ideology. But, the attack on Ghosh is not acceptable.”
