Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today came down heavily on the Aam Aadmi Party accusing it of supporting divisive force in the country.
Addressing a rally in Rithala, Mr Shah criticized Delhi Government for not giving permission to police to prosecute people allegedly involved in raising Anti-India slogans in Jawaharlal Nehru University. He also accused the City Government of not fulfilling the promise made to people in the last Assembly elections.
The Union Minister attacked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of not implementing several Central schemes like Ayushman Bharat in the national capital. Mr. Shah also addressed a rally in Janakpuri and promised that if BJP is voted to power it will make Delhi a world-class city. BJP President J P Nadda also addressed public meetings in the city and attacked the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.
Meanwhile, AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal participated in roadshows at Bawana and Narela and sought vote for his party candidates. He highlighted his government’s work related to water, electricity and education in the last five years. He promised that his party will continue with its development agenda related to the common man. Mr. Kejriwal also organized a roadshow in Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency. Another party leader Manish Sisodia claimed that Mr. Kejriwal has given a new direction to politics in the country. AAP leader Sanjay Singh campaigned in the Shalimar Bagh area and highlighted Delhi Government’s work.
On the other hand, Congress has accused BJP and Aam Aadmi Party of seeking votes in Delhi Assembly elections by making only tall promises instead of highlighting work done by them in the past years.
Addressing election meetings in different parts of the city today, party Delhi Unit Chief Subhash Chopra alleged that BJP is ruling Municipal Corporations of Delhi for the last 13 years while AAP is leading Delhi Government for last five years, but still, they are not talking about their accomplished promises.
He said the people of Delhi are agitated against both the parties as they are suffering due to their failures on various fronts. Mr. Chopra said the losses of Delhi Transport Corporation, Delhi Jal Board and electricity bodies have increased manifold in the last five years. Party leader Ajay Maken participated in an election meeting in R K Puram.
