Kerala police will investigate the sources of the money that was transferred for the liver transplantation surgery of the mother of Ernakulam native Varsha. This is in connection with the case filed after Varsha was threatened by certain people to hand over a share of the money. There have been allegations that the money that was remitted in the account was part of a hawala transaction.
Police will investigate the bank accounts from which the money was transferred along with how much money was debited from each account. Details regarding this will be taken from the bank office on Monday.
Along with this, the investigation to track down the people who threatened the girl over phone will also be carried out. It was mentioned in the complaint that social work activists Firoz Kunnamparambil and Sajan Kechery contacted the girl and threatened her to hand over the money.
Police will confirm whether these calls were made from their phone numbers. Interrogation in connection with this will be done only after this. Investigation will be held against those who attacked Varsha on social media.
Varsha appeared in a Facebook live requesting help for her mother’s surgery on June 24. Later, Sajan Kechery came forward offering help for Varsha. Howerver, she was threatened when she did not agree to their demand of opening a joint account after a large sum of money was transferred.
