Controversial cop Yatish Chandra, IPS, misbehaved with Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan throwing to wind decorum by pointing fingers at him, triggering huge outrage in social media. Angry over the indecent way the policeman was talking to the minister, senior BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan, who accompanied the minister, asked him to behave decently.
The incident took place when the minister was enquiring about the restrictions on pilgrims. The minister asked why the police were not allowing ordinary pilgrims’ vehicles to Pampa, the base camp. To this Chandra retorted with pointing finger at the minister: “Will you take responsibility? This is the problem… no one is taking responsibility.” Chandra’s body language was menacing when he interacted with the minister. He did not follow service guidelines while talking a people’s representative, leave alone a Union Minister. Chandra also did not allow the minister’s entourage to pass Nilakkal. In protest, the minister took a public transport vehicle to reach Sabarimala.
Upset over the rude behaviour of the cop, BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan asked him to stay within his limits. “He was misbehaving with the minister. He wore goggles and pointed finger at the minister. His behaviour was unbecoming of an officer. We demand his suspension. We will complain against him to the Union Home Ministry,” Radhakrishnan told mediapersons.
Pon Radhakrishnan said he has been coming to Sabarimala since he was eight years old but never has he faced such harassment from the police.
A couple of days ago, the controversial officer shouted at Hindu Aikya Vedi leader KP Sasikala Teacher and told her: “You are illegal.” He ordered her to return within six hours or face music. He undertook the drama before the cameras. When two people asked him why he was misbehaving with Sasikala Teacher, he asked his colleagues to throw them out of the bus and foist false cases against them.
Meanwhile, Kerala High Court passed some stinging comments about Yatish Chandra who is facing criminal charges for manhandling protesters. A five-year-old boy had given a statement against him court.
Chandra also manhandled many devotees who were chanting Saranam Ayyappa in Sabarimala.
