MR Ranjit Karthikeyan, a Chartered Accountant and founder of Ranjit Karthikeyan Associates, was appointed an Independent Director to the Board of Directors of Electronic Corporation of India Limited for a period of three years, said an official press release.
Karthikeyan is a life member of the International Council for Alternate Dispute Resolution, New Delhi, member of various trade bodies and is currently the convener of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Kerala. He is also a columnist, television and radio commentator in economic affairs and the former chairman of the Trivandrum branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Karthikeyan is also a qualified Information Systems Auditor and a Professional Director, trained under Commonwealth Association of Corporate Governance, London. He obtained his Masters degree in Law (LLM) with Alternate Dispute Resolution as Major in 2014.
ECIL, established in 1967 under the Department of Atomic Energy, had the primary objective of productionizing the products developed at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, in order to support the Country’s Nuclear Power and other Atomic Energy Programmes. Concurrently, it has endeavoured to create a strong indigenous /production base in the country for professional grade electronics spanning from small passive components to large and complex computer based systems.
