NCP central leadership has extended support to minister AK Saseendaran who landed up in a fresh controversy over a phone call related to settling a sexual assault complaint. The party leadership also ruled out the minister’s resignation. NCP state president PC Chacko informed that the central committee directed that there is no need to be serious about the controversies. The party took the decision after PC Chacko held talks with NCP national president Sharad Pawar.
PC Chacko discussed the matter with Pawar after Chief Minister and CPM declared their stance.It is learned that the national committee directed the state committee to not consider the row as a serious matter of concern.
Earlier, NCP state president PC Chacko backed Saseendran over the phone controversy. He informed that the party started to face issues following the appointment of a block president at Kundara.
“Saseendran didn’t appeal to withdraw the case. Some people are planning to use the case for political benefits. They may raise the issue even in assembly,” added PC Chacko.
Earlier, when he was serving as the Transport Minister, AK Saseendran had resigned from his post after an explicit audio sex tape was aired on a regional channel.
