In a setback to the Kerala government’s effort to procure the COVID vaccine, no bidders showed interest in the global tender. The state invited tender to procure foreign vaccines approved by WorldHealth Organisation and other three foreign agencies.
The Kerala government invited the global tender after seeking permission from the central government for solving the vaccine shortage in the state. Following this, the technical bid opened on Thursday. But no companies showed any interest to submit tender.
The Kerala Medical Service Corporation invited the tender for vaccine procurement in the state amid the second wave of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, other states also invited global tender for clearing the vaccine shortage. But they also failed in the attempt.
