Pinarayi government has spent Rs 90 Lakh to fight against the court verdict leaving the investigation of the Periya double murder case to CBI. Working committee member Babuji Yeesho has publicised the RTI document.
As per the RTI documents, the government has spent Rs 88 Lakh on three phases for the three different lawyers. Rs 60 lakh was given to a lawyer named Maninder Singh. An additional Rs 2, 92, 337 were spent on each advocate for appearing in court on flight expense, stay and food expense.
Earlier, the Kerala high court has left the murder case of Kripesh and Sharath Lal—two Youth Congress activists to CBI for investigation on the plea filed by their relatives. The duo was killed on 2019 February 17 near Kalyotu in Kasargod district, when they were returning home in a motorbike.
