Tamil Nadu Government has allowed all schools in the state to admit students for the current academic year from coming Monday. A government statement issued in Chennai said that safety protocols should be followed during the admission process.
Meanwhile, the total Covid-19 infection in the state has risen to more than three lakh eight thousand with 5834 people confirmed positive yesterday. Over two lakh fifty thousand of them have recovered.
Schools in Tamil Nadu have been allowed to admit students for the 1st, 6th and 9th standards for the ongoing academic year from Monday. Migration of students from one school to another is also permitted for all the classes.
However, the admission for the eleventh standard would be held from the 24th of this month, as the Tenth results have just been announced the day before yesterday and the students are yet to receive their mark statements.
Meanwhile, the state matriculation schools directorate is taking measures for parents of lower economic strata to apply online for the admission of their wards in private schools under the Right to Education Act, 2009.
