Kerala witnessed a massive protest when Solar scam that involved a number of congress leaders in the state. The CPM led opposition party, since the very beginning, was demanding the resignation of the then CM Ommen Chandy, though the case was probed by a state agency and it was clear that many of the accusations were politically motivated. CPM leaders were on the forefront to make severe allegations that included sexual misbehaviour by Ommen Chandy. Though the present scam is more serious nature and that point out government’s involvement and great implications, the CM is conveniently ignoring repeating the earlier stance that ‘government has nothing to with the same.’
