Kerala recorded 272 new cases of coronavirus today, informed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. At the same time 111 patients recovered.
Of these cases, 157 arrived from abroad, and 38 from other states.
68 infected through contact, the highest number so far recorded in the state.
Of the total cases, Malappuram recorded the highest with 63 followed by Thiruvananthapuram 54, Palakkad 29, Kottayam 3, Kollam 11, Ernakulam 21, Kannur 19, Kasaragod 13, Idukki 1, Pathanamthitta 12, Thrissur 10 Alappuzha 18, Wayanad 3, Kozhikode 15.
Meanwhile, Kollam district has recorded its third coronavirus death after a man who was under home quarantine was found dead.
The deceased, Thevalapuram native of Kottarakara, Manoj was found dead in his home. He was 24 and had arrived from Dubai, following which he was under home quarantine.
Rapid test conducted on his body confirmed the disease.
