The Covid pandemic is wreaking havoc in the national capital which witnessed a record jump of 792 in a day, taking the total number to 15,257. The total number of deaths has reached 303.
According to the Delhi Health Ministry, out of the total cases, 7,690 were active. In the last 24 hours, Delhi witnessed 15 deaths due to Covid19. The Health report said the cumulative death figures refer to those fatalities where the primary cause of death was found to be the infection, as per the report of the Death Audit Committee on the basis of the case sheets received from various hospitals. “Total 792 new cases were reported and the positive cases in the city reached 15,257. At least 7,264 patients have recovered from coronavirus so far in Delhi while 7,690 cases are active.”
However, in Agra where the total number on Tuesday rose to 870, saw high recovery rate of 87.47 per cent. According to the district administration, the Covid-19 spread is losing its steam in the Taj city. The daily new cases of Covid-19 patients has remained under ten for over eleven days in a row. On Monday, there were seven new cases. The highest number of cases, 54, was on May 3. And since then, the recovery rate in the city has shown a consistent improvement.
District Magistrate P.N.Singh said so far 761 had recovered and returned home. The number of active cases was 76. So far 12,384 samples had been collected, he said.
