As the state is going through an unprecedented financial crisis, the Kerala government has bought towels worth 75000 for ministers to clean their hands. The Department of Public Administration has approved the purchase of the towel from the Handloom Development Corporation.
As per data available one towel costs Rs. 750 whereas the government has ordered as many as 100 towels for 20 ministers in the council. The shocking reports come when the finance minister continues grumbling that the government has no money to carry out its routine activities.
Earlier the Chief Minister has appealed to the public to contribute to his relief fund, however, as per reports, people very well aware of the mismanagement of flood relief fund has turned their face against his plea. Following this, the ministry had also decided to collect a month’s salary of government employees the same invited stringent criticism from various quarters.
