The Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu police to use drones to monitor today’s proposed agitations by the DMK-led opposition against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Hearing a petition against the agitations, the court said, if any public property is damaged by the agitators, the party leadership concerned should be held responsible.
The case came up for an urgent hearing before Justices Vaidyanathan and Asha yesterday. The state government pleader said, the police have declined permission for the demonstration.
The court has asked the police to capture the videos of the agitations and asked the government to file its detailed reply in eight weeks.
