A beach clean-up drive named ‘Save Nature for the Future’ was organised by Anna Kshetra Charitable trust in Kerala’s Varkala beach. Number of volunteers under the leadership of the founder Rama Rajesh of the organisation attended the programme in which the volunteers collected plastic wastes which would pose threat to sea creatures.
The beach cleanup drive was conducted in Varkala beach which is also called as Papanasham as it is believed that taking bath here washes away all sins. It is the only beach in Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea. The beach is also the second most stunning cliff beach in the world.
“The main objective of this beach cleanup drive is to create awareness among our citizens to dispose of plastic wastes properly,” said Rama Rajesh, founder of the organisation. “Waste such as plastic accumulate in public spaces and eventually enters water bodies thereby causing severe damage to the environment and marine life”, he added.
Rama who is also known for feeding the poor has been serving hundreds of poor and underprivileged on the streets and hospitals, giving food to those who are hungry. His organisation is also engaged in various humanitarian activities, such as helping patients, support for educating their children and inspiring them to build confidence.
“Save Nature for the Future” drive intend to continue its journey by involving more volunteers for participating. The organisation requested support from the public for further expanding the programme. More information is available at +91-9895334516.
