Some time ago, a Muslim woman named her new born boy Narendra Modi, though under pressure from radical elements in her community she had to make some amends in the name.
Now, a group of Muslim women at Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh are setting up a temple dedicated to Prime Minister Modi. They are doing this to express their gratitude to him for bringing out law banning triple talaq.
According to Ruby Ghazni, the leader of the group, said PM Modi had done a lot for Muslim women in particular and deserved to be deified. The government under PM Modi has distributed maximum amount of scholarships to minorities, whose main beneficiaries were Muslim girls. “PM Modi has brought a sea change in our lives by banning triple talaq. He has also given us gas connections and free houses. What more does one want,” she asked.
Ghazni dismissed the allegation that PM Modi is anti-Muslim. According to her, the community is slowly realising this fact. She said PM Modi was being felicitated across the globe and should also be honoured in his own land. The group on Thursday handed over a memorandum to the District Magistrate, informing her about the temple.
Ghazni said they collected funds for the temple. “We want to send out a clear message that Muslim women are fully supportive of the Prime Minister and his policies and there is no reason for anyone to brand him as anti-Muslim,” Ghazni told a news agency.
