29 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Kerala on Monday, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while briefing media after the coronavirus review meeting here.
Out of the new cases, 6 are from Kollam, 4 from Thrissur, 3 each from Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur, 2 each from Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kozhikode and Kasaragod and one each from Ernakulam, Palakkad and Malappuram.
Out of the 29 coronavirus positive cases, 21 had returned from abroad while 7 returned from other states. A health worker in Kannur has contracted the virus through contact.
Meanwhile, there was no recovery cases on Monday. Also 6 new hostpsots have been identified in the state with 1 in Kollam and 5 in Palakkad. With this total number of hotspots have been increased to 29.
Till date 630 persons have been confirmed with the disease out of which 130 are under treatment.
67,789 persons are kept under isolation in state – 67316 in houses and 473 in hospitals.
On Monday 127 persons were admitted to hospitals.
Kerala has tested 45,905 samples till date out of which 44,651 have tested negative.
Also out of the 5,154 samples tested as part of sentinel surveillance, 5,082 samples tested negative.
