Indus Scrolls Poetry Editor Seema K Jayaraman’s poem collection, Wings of Rhapsody: A Dalliance of Poems, will be released at an function to be held at Malabar Chamber of Commerce hall, Kannur, on Sunday.
Hailing from Kerala’s Kannur district, Seema has been one of the most promising Indian poets writing in English. The anthology is Seema’s debut book. The mix of poems is rich and covers a collection of poems in free verse style followed by a set of intricate Haiku and Tanka. A resident of Mumbai, Seema is a working professional and a mother of two young boys. A prolific writer, she contributes articles on contemporary issues to various digital media outlets.
Seema is exposed to both domestic and international cultures thanks to her upbringing as a IAF child and with her IT professional background. She has absorbed into being a fair share of life experiences grounded in spiritual beliefs. She is a poetess of small moments, capturing snapshots of myriad instances between ‘now and then’ which is depicted through her highly eloquent verses painted with vivid visions and intricate expressions. She is a pirouetting spirit, the energy harnessed expressed as poems.
Seema’s poetry is a journey of self-discovery, an expression of creativity, painting a vivid picture in the reader’s mind. She presents myriad stories: vibrancy of nature, at times depicting human strife and tragedy with a contemporary voice. She hopes to bring the reader to a point of introspection, promoting peace, love and a balanced life for all living beings on Mother Earth. She writes unconstrained, experimenting and exulting with both free style and rhyme-based verses. She also enjoys writing Haikus and Tankas.
