When we were kids, our parents, teachers in school, everybody asked us to sit straight, keep our spine straight.
Many a time question arises in our mind, why is it so?
Let’s explore the reasons behind this:
Spiritually, all the seven chakras in our body are places on the line of spine. Continuously, there is flow of energy between these chakras. If the spine is not kept straight, there is hindrance in the flow of energy, thereby creating blockages. Thus, giving rise to illness.
Psychologically, a person who keeps his spine straight is always positive, confident, energetic and happy.
Biologically, if the spine is not kept, it effects the heart and lungs. Thereby it affects the exchange of gases i.e. oxygen and carbon dioxide. Due to deficiency of oxygenated blood, one feels lethargic, tired and remains in tension. So the spine should be kept straight for the proper circulation of oxygenated blood. Other parts which get affected are kidneys, nervous system & digestive system.
According to physics, every object falls towards earth due to gravitational force. When one doesn’t keep his/her spine straight then a lot of physical energy is spent to balance the body. So, it’s always better to keep the spine straight while standing, walking or sitting.
It is said that the people who always keep his/her spine straight while standing, walking or sitting are honest, warm-hearted, friendly, etc.
