Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel on Friday urged the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to include monuments before 500 years in its list of protected monuments and said he is “not allergic to anybody’s history and bravery” but to “bury someone underneath is also not acceptable”.
Humein kisi ki veerta aur itihaas se koi allergy nahi hai. Lekin hum kisi ko neeche dafan kar dein, yeh humein sweekar bhi nahi hai
Addressing a function organised to commemorate Kargil victory, Patel said: “Humein kisi ki veerta aur itihaas se koi allergy nahi hai. Lekin hum kisi ko neeche dafan kar dein, yeh humein sweekar bhi nahi hai. (We are not allergic to anybody’s bravery and history, but to bury someone underneath, that’s also not acceptable).” He said the country has a huge wealth of monuments that need to be protected.
The Minister also praised the valour of Indian armed forces on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
