Keeping the tradition, women living in Vrindavan have dispatched 501 hand-made rakhis and as many face masks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of Rakshabandhan.
The special rakhis are having images of the prime minister on them while the masks have been themed on the temple city of Vrindavan with messages like “Stay Safe” and “Aatmnirbhar” written on them.
Most of the women are widows living in ashrams. Till last year, some widows visited PM’s residence in Delhi to tie rakhi on his wrist but this year due to coronavirus outbreak, it would be impossible for them, said NGO Sulabh Hope Foundation in a statement.
The Rakhis with images of Modi were made by aged widows living in Maa Sharda and Meera Sagabhagini ashrams in Vrindavan.
