State Police chief Loknath Behera has informed that the virtual queue system in Sabarimala will continue in the coming years too. The DGP has made the announcement while paying a visit to Sabarimala on Monday.
“This year, the police personnel were responsible to ensure the safety of themselves along with devotees and employees at the shrine. The police officials handled the situation in the best way without making any complaints,” said DGP.
The health department also offered the best service in Sabarimala. Some policemen who were on Sabarimala duty contracted COVID-19 infection. Following this, the police department has made security arrangements at the shrine giving priority for COVID-19 prevention, he added.
Loknath Behera reached Sabarimala around 9 am on Monday. After paying obeisance before Lord Ayappa, he visited Malikappuram temple. Later, he visited Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru and chief priest VK Jayaraj Potty.
His son Aneeth Teji also accompanied him to the holy shrine.
