A leaked audio tape has put Karnataka BJP leader in a tight spot and offered fodder for the opposition to corner the government.
As per reports, an activist and hospital staff’s conversation in which the staff allegedly said that they vaccinate the public for Rs 900 and allegedly said the amount goes to MLA.
Congress soon took this matter and accused the MLA of indulging in the ‘Vaccination Commission Scam’ and demanded a probe into the incident.
Meanwhile, MLA Ravi Subramanya took to his Twitter handle and issued a clarification “Certain miscreants have used my name in an allegation about COVID Vaccine charges through an audio recording. Visited the ‘AV Multispeciality Hospital’ at Hosakerehalli, where this incident was highlighted in the audio, to meet those who have intentionally acclaimed these charges,” he wrote.
The MLA was also quoted as saying that he will file a criminal case against a person who falsely claimed that MLA was supplying vaccines.
The local Congress unit also has filed a complaint with DCP South and sought an inquiry into the whole episode.
Earlier on May 4, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya along with MLAs Ravi Subramanya, Satish Reddy and Uday Garudachar raided South Zone War Room alleging a bed-blocking scam. They suspected the role of officials and war room staff and touts in blocking beds.
And soon the raid took a communal turn after MLA Ravi Subramanya told the official,”Are you hiring people for Madrasa or Corporation.”
