Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Wednesday exposed the lie claimed by Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor where the latter said that he used Rs 1 crore from his MPLADS funds to finance Sree Chitra Institute.
Muraleedharan tweeted a copy of RTI plea dated 22.06.2020 by Sree Chithra Tirunal Institue of Thiruvananthapuram that said “No funds under MPLADS is received till date to Institute from Dr. Shashi Tharoor MP Trivandrum”.
“No projects are created, since the referred funds are not received till date,” it added.
“RTI plea busted MP @ShashiTharoor’s claim of donating ₹1 Cr. MPLADS fund to @sctimst_tvm. They did not receive the fund either for R&D or for the purchase of Test Kits. Stop #Lying!,” tweeted V Muraleedharan.
Tharoor had on April 17 said that he used the fund for Sree Chitra Institute that resulted a breakthrough for the institute. “Their new test kit will bring sample-to-result time below two hours but SCT didn’t have the money,” he had said.
