US Official Reveals ISIS Suicide Attack in India Last Year that Failed

Director of the National Counterterrorism Center of the US, Russel Travers has said that the Khorasan group of the ISIS or the ISIS-K attempted a suicide attack in India last year but failed.

Replying to a question from Indian-origin Senator Maggie Hassan, Travers said, the outfit has attempted to inspire attacks outside of Afghanistan.

Travers also said that al-Qaeda retains its long-standing ties to the Haqqani Network and other militant networks active in Afghanistan and Pakistan that frequently target US personnel.
