On the eve of election notification, he scrapped more than 30 years old 4% reservations for Pasmanda Muslims. It was an epiphanic enlightenment which eluded him all these years despite being in politics for decades. The thrill of enlightenment was so much pronounced that he could not restrain himself till elections were over.
It was a Masha-Allaha moment for the moribund, stinking Congress Party. They pounced on the golden opportunity gifted to them on a platter, assured Muslims to restore it and prevailed upon them not to protest to avoid polarisation of Hindu votes. And Muslims smartly abided by them.
And our BJP-Chanakya thought, Pasmandas have gladly accepted the decision strengthened by the recent appeasement drive undertaken by the Prime Minister. A dream moment come true to become greatest social engineer in the history of this nation !!
Hindu-s in the State saw through it and outright ignored it while 5% votes blissfully migrated from JD(S) to Congress.
Then arrived the disaster moment, so pathetic that they all looked like nincompoops in politics even after decades of reckoning. Any other result would have reflected poorly on Karnataka voters.
Only if BJPs Chanakya had waited for elections to be over before scrapping those reservations, Party would not have faced such a humiliation.
By the way, BJP is well-known for ignoring their hard-core supporters/workers, often insulting them. Once upon a time, I used to be a team member of Dr. Harsha Vardhan. After being nominated for the position of Delhi CM, he stopped even reciprocating to my Namaste !! And told another member who had worked hard for him and spent lot of personal money for his campaign, not to contact him anymore.
And you address them all as Param-Pujaniya, Param-Adarniya, Param-Vandaniya…and what not !!
