Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, CPM led Kerala government is appointing their supporters in various government positions, reports Mathrubhumi. The move is by stabilizing supporters who are presently working as temporary staff in various sectors, indicate reports.
The wife of the private secretary of Minister Mercy Kuttyamma has been made permanent in the labor department. Apart from this, formalities to stabilize more than 50 temporary employees in CDT under the IT department are also in its final stages, the report further said.
The Kerala Institute of Labor and Employment under the Department of Labor (KILA) last month issued an order confirming two temporary employees. AR Naseeja, who has been made a permanent appointee for LD Clark, is the wife of Basheer, the private secretary to Minister Mersikuttyamma. They were appointed on a temporary basis in Kila during the last Left government. Another candidate S. Umadevi, who has been permanently appointed as a stenotypist, is also a CPM associate.
The current move is by simply ignoring the already-prepared rank list by PSC. It is while fears persisting that there will be an undeclared ban on recruitment due to COVID-19 crisis, these appointments are being made.
The CPM led Kerala government is notorious for behind-the-door appointments. The government is facing stringent criticism for appointing the controversial lady accused in the ongoing gold-smuggling case too. However, these lessons doesn’t seem to be bothering the Pinarayi Vijayan or other ministers.
