Two Indian Army Jawans martyred during a search operation in Nowshersa sector of J&K

Two Army Jawans were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir, during a cordon and search operation in Nowshersa sector of Rajouri district in Jammu Division this morning.

A Defence spokesman told media that a contact was established with infiltrators in a forest in Naushera Sector last night. The heavily armed terrorists retaliated by opening heavy fire. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two soldiers were critically injured and later succumbed to their injuries.

The Martyred jawans have been identified as Naik Sawant Sandip Raghunath of village Munde in Karhad Tehsil of Satara district in Maharashtra and Rifleman Arjun Thapa Magar of village Rip in Gorkha district of Nepal. Presently the operation is in progress.
