GENEVA: Truth, but sometimes it comes slipped out of a mouth – perhaps this is what happened with Pakistan Foreign Minister! Trying hard to express his ‘grave concern’ over Kashmiris in India, the minister called Kashmir an Indian state though so far the neighbouring country has referred to Jammu and Kashmir as “India Administered Kashmir”.
“India is trying to give an impression to the world that life has returned to normalcy. If the life has returned to normalcy, then I say, why don’t they allow you, the international media, why don’t they allow the international organisations, the NGOs, civil society organisations to go into the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and see for themselves what the reality is,” Mr Qureshi told reporters during their interaction after his address.

Taking up the Kashmir issue at 42nd UNHRC session, Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi made serious allegations against India. The minister said human rights are being trampled with impunity by India and that 8 million Kashmiris have been caged by military occupation. He also alleged that the shops in Kashmir are running short of supplies and people are unable to access emergency health facilities.
India will reply to Pakistan over Kashmir in Geneva at 6pm.
