Two migrant workers died while unloading granite from a container lorry in Myladumpara at Nedumkandom here on Thursday evening. Pradeep, and Sudhan, hailing from West Bengal, died after the granites fell on top of them.
The incident took place at a private estate at Attupara around 4.30 pm on Thursday.
The granites weighing around 250 kg each accidentally fell on top of the two workers leaving them dead on the spot. Though the locals and the fire force lifted the granites, the workers succumbed to their injuries.
Locals said the deceased was not an expert in unloading materials like granite. Further, the container was slightly tilted to one side, making it harder to unload granites, they added.
