Campaigning is in full swing for upcoming Delhi Assembly elections which will be held on Saturday. Prominent leaders from different political parties are trying to woo the voters through roadshows, public meeting and door to door campaigns.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the BJP will provide clean water and air in Delhi if the party comes to power. Addressing an election rally in Karkardooma, East Delhi this evening, Mr Modi accused AAP Government of not wanting to give houses to poor and blocking Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana. He said, his government delivered on its promise to people of Delhi that it will regularize unauthorized colonies.
The Prime Minister said, Delhi is not just a city, but the heritage of India. He said, this election is the first election of the new decade and will decide the future of 21st century India and the future of the capital of India.
Senior BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah held a roadshow and is addressing a rally in Mundka. BJP President J P Nadda is also addressing several public meetings in Shakur Basti, Model Town and Chandni Chowk. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh is canvassing for Congress and holding a roadshow at Kalkaji. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal held a roadshow in Dwarka.
Delhi will go to polls on the 8th of this month to elect a 70- member Assembly. Counting of votes will be taken up on the 11th of February.
Delhi Chief Electoral Officer said, over 9 crores 33 lakh rupees cash has been seized so far.
