KANNUR: In a yet another incident that testifies the intolerance of Kerala chief minister and member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), a viral visual in the social media has evoked massive criticism from people.
The video shows a woman approaching the CM while the angry Pinarayi shouts at her to go away. The video was captured on Saturday at the collectorate hall, Kannur, during a function to felicitate volunteers for flood rescue and relief activities.
During the function, when Pinarayi Vijayan was seated on the dais along with other ministers including EP Jayarajan and Ramachandran Kadannappally, a middle-aged woman approached him. Holding the hands of the CM the woman reportedly said he had done nothing as a CM. Enraged by her words the CM is seen shouting at her while party men take her away from the dais.
Soon after the incident, a Facebook post by Kannur District Collector TV Subhash appeared justifying the CM’s act that also said the woman had psychological problems. However, thousands of people marked their protest under the post alleging that the district collector and former SFI activist received IAS merely by appeasing the CPM led government.
Kerala CM, notorious for his intolerance had shown the signs of his ruthless intolerance in a number of occasions earlier too. Mere coincidence it could be, but just a day before the incident happened the CPM secretary appeared in a press conference urging party activists to restrain themselves from intolerant behaviour and to have close to people.
The CPM had a pathetic fall in the recent Lok Sabha elections where the party had to satisfy themselves with just one seat from the entire state.
