The purge: CPI(M) lawmaker Shamseer to be interrogated for murder attempt on rebel leader

The Kerala Police investigation team, which is probing into the murder attempt on rebel CPI(M) leader COT Nazeer, is planning to interrogate CPI(M) MLA AN Shamseer for his alleged role in the case. Nazeer hails from CPI(M) bastion of Thalassery in Kannur.

The team led by CI VK Vishwambharan has completed recording of the statements of victim and those arrested in connection with the attack.

The police who are acting like handmaids of the CPI(M) were trying to scuttle the investigation. The police changed its plan after Nazeer said that he would approach the High Court to demand the Shamseer’s interrogation.

The investigation team proposes to submit the chargesheet within three weeks. Nazeer said that though the police arrested Pottian Santhosh and CPI(M) Pulyottu branch secretary N K Ragesh, the real culprit was Shamseer.

Although the police got sufficient leads to corner Shamseer, the investigators were moving slow on the investigation. According to Nazeer, call records of Ragesh and Shamseer show that both were part of the conspiracy.
