Terrorism in Kerala: Sleeper cells active in 10 out of 14 districts of Kerala

In yet another major revelation, sleeper cells have found to be active in ten districts in Kerala. The Central agencies got the tip-off from the al-Qaeda terrorist arrested recently from Perumbavoor.

Following the revelation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started extensive investigation into the matter. The arrests of terrorists including Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Thadiyantavide Nazeer, Communist terror leader Malla Raja Reddy, Abdul Nasser Madani and the three al-Qaeda operatives, prove that Kerala has become a safe haven for terrorism.

It was only after the NIA arrested people with terrorist links from Kanakamala that the state government and the police realized that extremists were coming to Kerala and gathering at various places. Central Intelligence had reported on the incident several times, but the state government disregarded this serious issue, paving way for terrorists to make a safe ground in Kerala.
