Well known Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide at his Bandra residence here on Sunday morning has left Bollywood actors shocked. Rajput, 34, hailed from Bihar and was educated in Patna and New Delhi, before shifting to Mumbai.
Reacting to the demise, actor Akshay Kumar tweeted: Honestly this news has left me shocked and speechless…I remember watching #SushantSinghRajput in Chhichhore and telling my friend Sajid, its producer how much I’d enjoyed the film and wish I’d been a part of it. Such a talented actor…may God give strength to his family 🙏🏻 “
Sachin Tendulkar expressed his sadness at the demise of the young actor. He tweeted: “Shocked and sad to hear about the loss of Sushant Singh Rajput. Such a young and talented actor. My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul RIP. Folded hands”
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted: “Truly shocked and sad to hear the unfortunate news of the demise of very talented Sushant Singh Rajput. My condolences to his family, friends & everyone who admired his work.”
Bollywood playback singer Lata Mangeshkar tweeted: “Sushant Singh Rajput ke aatmhatya ki khabar sunkar mujhe bada dhakka laga.Hamari kabhi mulaaqaat nahi hui thi magar unhone Dhoni film main aisa sundar abhinay kiya tha ki main kabhi bhul nahi sakti.Main unko shraddhanjali arpan karti hun. Ishwar unki aatma ko shanti pradan kare.”
Rajput was known for his portrayals in TV serials like “Pavitra Rishta”, films “Kai Po Chhe”, “Shuddh Desi Romance”, the biopic “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”, “Kedarnath” and “Chhichore”, among several others.
Bollywood and social media reacted with shock and disbelief on hearing the news of Rajput’s death.
