Two individuals, including a young woman, were arrested for posing as doctors and providing naturopathic treatment without proper registration. The accused were identified as Sophimol, aged 46, from Madattara Hisana Mansil in Thiruvananthapuram, and her friend Kuttyadi Namjapara Basheer, aged 55. They were apprehended from Tirur Pooka based on a complaint filed by a resident of Chavakkad.
According to reports, the accused used social media to attract patients seeking treatment for psoriasis, unresponsive lesions, and migraines. During the investigation, it was discovered that a 35-year-old man from Chavakkad suffered from eye diseases after using oil provided by the accused for treating his migraines.
Further probe revealed that the accused were providing treatment without proper registration and were not qualified doctors. The victims were lured into undergoing the treatment at Tirur Pooka. The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused on the pretext of offering further treatment.
