Sahasrabuddhe calls for ‘One Nation, One Election’

Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Rajya Sabha Member and Vice-Chairman of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, today called for simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the country. “Simultaneous elections is the major democratic reform that the nation is waiting for decades and hence a nationwide discourse about the same is for consensus building is the need of the hour,” said Sahasrabuddhe.

The BJP leader stressed on the need for One Nation, One Election and observed that “exploring the possibility of conducting simultaneous elections remains a difficult yet probable solution to all the problematic issues which are the direct outcome of multiplicity of elections”.

To discuss various aspects associated with the topic, a national seminar will be held in Mumbai on January 20-21, in which political, legal and constitutional experts will take part. Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana, Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman, Niti Aayog, Shri KC Tyagi, MP, and Subhash Kashyap will participate in the deliberations.
