The makers of the hit Kannada film ‘Kantara’ have officially announced the start of work on ‘Kantara 2’ on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, which is the Kannada New Year. The makers had previously announced the prequel for ‘Kantara’ and are now taking the journey ahead with the sequel by starting work on the script.
Hombale Films, the production company behind ‘Kantara’, shared the news on social media with a creative wishing everyone a happy Ugadi. The post read, “On this auspicious occasion of Ugadi & New Year, we are delighted to announce that the writing for the second part of #Kantara has begun. We can’t wait to bring you another captivating story that showcases our relationship with nature. Stay tuned for more updates.”

‘Kantara’ starring Rishab Shetty was one of the biggest breakout films that Indian cinema saw last year. The film brought a story from the heartlands of India and garnered love from audiences across quarters, making its mark on the global level. With the announcement of ‘Kantara 2’, fans are eagerly waiting to see what the makers have in store for them.
‘Kantara’ was released in the Kannada version and Hindi version on September 30 and October 14 respectively. The film is written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films.
