Aptera Motors, an American-based car manufacturing startup, has come up with a vehicle that can run on solar energy. Aptera Electric Car
This solar car has a three-wheeled helicopter-like design that can be described as a futuristic design. The manufacturers say that it can travel up to 64 km on solar power alone without charging with electricity. The zero-emission vehicle, which often doesn’t cost a single rupee to travel, is priced at Rs 27.31 lakh ($33,200).
This vehicle is designed to be lightweight using carbon fibre and fibreglass. The solar car launched by Aptera Motors is designed to minimize air resistance. According to the manufacturers, the solar panels installed in this car can absorb energy even when the vehicle is closed.
The vehicle that will be released in the first phase has a battery with a capacity of 42 kW. The manufacturer assures that the vehicle can travel 640 km on a single charge. This vehicle can be used for weeks without a charge if it is in a sunny area. This vehicle can even avoid the need to charge at Vaidyathi if the journey is only for running on solar energy.
