The BJP Working President, J. P. Nadda, said that the protesters against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are anti-Dalits because the beneficiary of the Act consists of 70% to 80% from the Dalit community.
Nadda also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the biggest protector of the Dalit community. He also accused the Congress for misleading the minorities on the CAA issue.
He stressed that the law was about giving citizenship to minorities from neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan and did not deprive anyone’s citizenship.
The BJP leader said that the CAA was a balm on wounds left by the Congress and that the Act has given justice to people exploited and deprived of their rights in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
He also accused the Congress and other opposition parties for using vote bank and appeasement politics.
