Following the incident in which a man was killed after falling into a pothole on the national highway in Kerala, the high court has directed immediate measures to take remedial actions.
The directive was given to the Kerala Regional Officer of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Palakkad Project Director through amicus curiae today as the High Court was on vacation.
Several petitions related to potholes are pending before the High Court. The High Court had earlier appointed an amicus curiae in this regard.
The amicus curiae brought the news of Nedumbassery to the attention of the High Court. Following this, Justice Devan Ramachandran ordered the immediate closure of potholes on the national highway.
The court will hear petitions related to potholes on the road on Monday.
