Addressing a huge gathering of BJP workers in the temple town of Guruvayoor on Saturday (June 8), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said irrespective of whether Kerala has elected a BJP candidate or not, the Centre would work for the development of the whole nation.
The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment of his government towards the development of the state. “The Central government will work for 130 crore people of the country. Many people say Kerala has not elected even a single MP belonging to the party. The BJP is in the politics not just for power but for service too. This is exemplified in the commitment of BJP workers in the state. Electoral defeats have not dampened their spirit of social service,” PM Modi said.
In the last five years, India has made major strides in the area of tourism. Globally India ranks third in terms of tourist inflow and Kerala has huge tourism potential. He said the Centre has unveiled a major spiritual tourism scheme where the state will benefit from the inflow of tourists.
PM Modi iterated the commitment of the Central government towards combating situation arising out of spread of Nipa virus. “You don’t worry. We are with you. All possible help will be provided to the state to combat the disease,” said PM Modi.
PM Modi appealed to the Kerala government to introduce the Ayushman Bharat scheme aimed at providing free healthcare to the tune of Rs 5 lakh to people below poverty line. He said many states have introduced the scheme and poor people have benefited out of this.
