Eminent bureaucrat and one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s closest aides Nripendra Misra quit as Principal Secretary to the PM. He was the member of PM Modi’s team since he came to power in 2014. He will continue for two more weeks on PM Modi’s request.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted the request of his Principal Secretary Nripendra Misra to be relieved of his post. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said that he will be relieved of his post from the second week of the next month. He said, Mr Misra is among the most outstanding officers, who have a great grasp of public policy and administration.
Mr Modi said that Mr Misra’s guidance remains extremely valuable for him. He said, after serving the PMO assiduously and diligently for over five years and making an indelible contribution to India’s growth trajectory, Mr Misra will be embarking on a new phase of his life for which Mr Modi gave him his best wishes.
