Christians convert more people to their community and compared to them, Muslims are not indulging in such activities, SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan said here on Monday.
Reacting to Father Roy Kannanchira’s statement that Ezhava youth are systematically luring Christian women, Vellappally said no one shall make such a ‘communal statement’. Priesthood is not a license to say as one pleases, he said.
Christian missionaries exploit poverty and convert people. Compared to them, Muslims are not doing such activities. Christians act as an organised ‘vote-bank’. They have power and they loot the state treasury while the SC, STs and other backward communities suffer, he alleged.
