Noted Poet and educationist Nancy K Anto will represent Writers Capital Foundation (India) during the 4th International Feministanbul Women’s Poetry Festival in Turkey. The programme that feature poets from across the globe is to be held in Istanbul from November 7-9. Nancy K Anto is the first poet to represent India during the festival.
The festival of poetry is being jointly organized by World Poetry Festival (WFP), Capital Writers Foundation (WCF), World poetry movement (WPM) and Eagle municipality. The theme for the year’s Poets’ Meet is Violence Against Woman where poets from across the world will be presenting poems on the theme.
Nancy K Anto, a research scholar on the topic ‘Transformational potential of trauma in Cancer narratives’ is also a cancer survivor made use of poetry as a means to fight with the deadly disease. Her recent book ‘Strangled Voices’ published by Indus Scrolls Press (ISP), Delhi had bagged awards during the 39th world congress of poets at Kalinga Literary Festival this year.
“It is indeed a privilege to represent India and Writers Capital Foundation during the Feministanbul Poetry Festival,” responded Nancy on her accomplishment. She also said that she hopes her poems and presentations would speak the voice of millions of cancer patients across the world and will help further defeating the disease from within which is more important.
‘Strangled Voices’ an anthology of poetry authored by Nancy K Anto and published by Indus Scrolls Press has been among the best sellers in the category of poetry while the second edition of the book is expected soon.
