A riot broke out in Pakistan’s Ghotki district following the news that a Hindu teacher made derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammed, reports Pak media. The mob attacked shops of the minority Hindu community and looted them too, says the report.
According to All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat (APHP) an enraged mob led by local religious leaders attacked properties owned by Hindus and looted their shops taking away goods worth millions.
The riot happened after a Hindu teacher in Pakistan was arrested for his alleged remarks against Prophet Muhammad. His arrest was made following a complaint by a class 11 student in the school where he taught.
The Sukkhur session court on Monday has pronounced 25 years imprisonment to Notan Lal and has also slapped a fine of Rs 50000.
In another incident, some unidentified persons allegedly attacked the historical Sherawali Mata temple in Aror town situated near Rohri city in Sukkur district of Sindh province of Pakistan.
