The presence of Ibrahim Kutty, the policeman posted at Pathanamthitta Armed Reserve Police Camp, among devotees in Nilakkal on October 18 during the police action has strengthened the allegation that there was a sinister design to turn Sabarimala into a trouble spot. Kutty was in civil dress and attacked the police.
According to a media report, Kutty was under suspension for a year for his alleged involvement in the plot to facilitate the escape of T Nazeer, the dreaded Indian Mujahideen terrorist involved in several blasts cases including Bengaluru blast case, from the police custody.
Kutty was the driver of the police vehicle which carried Nazeer from Thiruvananthapuram Central Jail to Aluva court, Ernakulam district. The vehicle was stopped near Aroor bridge linking Ernakulum and Alappuzha districts. Technical snag in the engine was the excuse. Reports suggest six boats were waiting under the bridge to save Nazeer. Nazeer and Abdul Nasser Madani are in Bengaluru jail in connection with this case for the last more than six years.
His picture was the 167th among hundreds in the lookout notice. The police has said he was on duty. Interestingly he was in civil dress. Duty list of that day alone can disclose the truth. Police adds that driver does not have to wear the uniform. The list of the suspects was prepared and aired, along with the list, by the cyber cell of the police.
If such a man, who was off duty, had infiltrated into the crowd of devotees one cannot shut his eyes against the chances of a larger conspiracy. But for the discipline and unity of the devotees, these sorts of infiltrators would have engineered bloody violence in Nilakkal. If it could happen, it would have paved the way for total violence throughout the state. Only a judicial investigation will be able to unearth such plots and the involvement of the CPI(M) in it.
The CPI(M) is experiencing an influx of Islamist elements who are ‘CPI(M) during and Popular Front at night’. Many such activists were behind brutal killing of RSS workers in the state.
